Shawn Dennehy, B.A.

Shawn was born and raised in Tucson, AZ, and graduated from Northern Arizona University with a B.A. in Anthropology in 2017. While in school, Shawn completed two field schools: one in Belize with the Belize Valley Archaeological Institute and one in Cortez, CO with the Verde Valley Archaeological Center. Shawn has worked for several CRM in the southwest and Pacific Northwest as an Archaeological Technician and Field Director in a variety of project types including survey, excavation, site recording, and construction monitoring. Shawn has also authored and contributed to many technical reports for federal and state agencies. His archaeological background has spanned states including Arizona, Nevada, California, New Mexico, Utah, and Washington – specializing in lithic analysis, southwestern ceramic analysis, fieldwork supervision, and site recording. Shawn has also worked on biological surveys aimed at identifying and protecting desert tortoise populations in Nevada. At Drayton, Shawn works as a report editor and helps with fieldwork tasks. In his free time, Shawn enjoys spending time with his two kids, camping, hiking, kayaking, songwriting, and performing with his bluegrass band, Lucky Lenny.
